Handmade Bookmarks – Water colour – For kids

Making bookmarks was one of my favourite craft. I have made many different bookmark. I I almost had an obsession for making bookmarks. My buddy got inspired by me and he tried making a few bookmarks using chart paper and water colour. They are for kids, comic book since they look a little kiddish any kid will love to keep it between their comic book pages. The creative idea was making book marks in the shape of objects like bat, feather etc. It looks pretty cute idea isn’t it ? I personally kept all these bookmarks. Here we go a round up on his creativity

DIY Greeting card – Womens day special

Hello Buddies 🙂

Happy women’s day to all the precious ladies in this world. It is one of the most special day for all the women. So all the ladies take some “me” time for you today. Do your most favourite thing today. Eat the best dish you like. Take some rest.Watch your favourite movie. Live the day happyly for yourself. Meet and wish all the ladies you have known ! Those you can’t meet send your wishes to them.

The best way to send in your wishes is through greeting cards and I always prefer handmade cards over the hallmark bought cards. Handmade may not be perfect but that’s the beauty of them. They have always made the person who receives it more happy than shop bought gifts.womens day card

Enough said let me show you the tiny and sweet greeting card for happy women’s day !

Supplies Required :

  • Card stock
  • Quilling paper
  • Craft glue
  • Rhine stone
  • Quilling needle

My method :

  1. Cut a card stock of required size
  2. Choose a design
  3. I did a small flower and a butterfly quilled flower
  4. To make the flower first 5 petals have to made .I used a green paper and formed this hollow petals by rolling the 3 mm paper around a pen then take it out and pinch it at one end to form tea drop shape
  5. Then make a tight small tea drop in pink color and insert inside this green outer petal
  6. Arrange them as a flower and stick a pink Rhine stone in the middle. Flower part is ready
  7. Then I made two leaves in black color attached them with a pink stem to the flowerQuilling card
  8. Then a tiny red butterfly with two loose coil tea drops thats all ready
  9. I added two pieces of left out papers as embellishment on the side

  11. Write the wishes and post them

Jewellery Of The Week – JOTW 22 – Grapes

Its been long time since I have made an earring. Our JOTW posts were almost stopped but here we are back in track now with one of our new design of Jewelry as always a pair of quirky earrings ! Hope you like it. Here is how I made it.Grape earring

Supplies Required :

  • Quilling paper
  • Ear hooks
  • Jump ring
  • Wire cutter
  • Pliers
  • Glue
  • Varnish

My Method :

  1. Take white and green quilling paper
  2. Take three white quilling paper and roll it over a pen refill. Press it and make it into a tea drop shape
  3. Make a smaller shape with the green colour paper
  4. Next make a round shape with green colour form a circle and roll half of a white paper over it to form the top circlepieces
  5. Now insert the green tea drop inside the white tea drop shapepieces
  6. Attach the four pieces as shown in the pictureassemble
  7. Connect the jump ring inside the circle pieceloop
  8. Insert the ear hook to this jump ringsGrape earring
  9. Apply varnish on the earring with a small paint brush. This is to make your earring resistant to water.

How to make a Christmas Star

This is one of the million dollar DIY project I wanted to do since my childhood and it turns out it is a very easy project.The christmas star has fascinated me ever since I was a child.Those colourful stars hanging there making fascinating colours in the night the whole christmas season has made me get excited and fascinated.We will be surrounded by many pretty things during christmas stars, gifts, greeting cards, Christmas tree, decorations so many beautiful things.Among them the star itself is my most favourite part

Last year I made the christmas star and a tiny golden star for my crib in the same way and If you remember I even promised an exclusive tutorial for making that glittering golden star of my crib.As I promised here is my tutorial for making a christmas star with chart paper or any paper of your choice.I have done it in tiny size for the crib. You can scale it up and make the big one same way.I have also included a template for making this star. (Tiny one)

Supplies Required:

  • Chart Paper
  • Scissors
  • Scale
  • Pencil
  • Plastic card

My method :

  1. Print the template in the chart paper or any sheet of your choicetemplateDSC00230

  3. Score along the lines
  4. Fold along the scoring and form the each pieceDSC00239

  6. Connect the last two ends of the pieces
  7. Thats it my pretty tiny Gold star ready !
  8. Same way you can make any christmas star of any size you should scale up the template based on your requirement.
  9. And you can add your creativity to make it more pretty like embleshments punches all possibilities

Handmade Bookmark obsession – Chevron Pattern

I made yet another handmade water colour painted bookmark. My obsession with painted bookmarks has not stopped. Painting bookmarks was such a fun. I couldn’t stop making them. I made patterned Bookmarks with water colours. I did a chevron pattern. It turned out pretty and I loved it. Really this water colour amuses me very much. chevron bookmark

Supplies Required :

  • Water colour
  • Brush
  • Card stock

My Method :

  1. Cut out the card stock in the bookmark shape.
  2. Chose any size, mine was 10cm x 3cm
  3. Draw a 0.5cm offset line inside the bookmark
  4. Draw a chevron patternchevron bookmark
  5. Paint it with different water colours
  6. Apply picture varnish on the paint to prevent it from coming off.
  7. An optional satin ribbon can also be added. But I left it as it is.

DIY Thanks Giving Greeting cards – Water colour

Hello Buddies 🙂

How do you doing ? Today I am going to share with you the wonderful tiny water colour painted greeting cards I made for my brother and buddy. I am really getting obsessed with water colours they do fascinate me. I like the way they turn out. They are totally unpredictable and that’s the real fun in doing water colour paintings. I guess I will be making more and more of these water colour paintings. So now ready to see my greeting cards ? Here we go !

Supplies required :

  • Water colour ( I used cake colours- I found it less messy than tubes)
  • Paint brushes ( Size 0 and 1)
  • Craft Punches (Optional)
  • Thick cardstock/art board for the greeting card

My Method:

  1. There is really not much to explain as a procedure or method to make these.
  2. Cut the art board of your desired card size.A card
  3. Draw the outline of the design with pencil on the card
  4. Start painting them with the water colours.The combination of colours you use
    are purely your choice Mushroom
  5. Use size 0 or 00 brushes when you want to draw minute details.
  6. Wash the brush thoroughly before using another colour.
  7. And then let your creativity do the rest of the work !Thanks Giving card
  8. I added few flower punches to the edges of the cardPunches
  9. And then I added a Happy Thanks Giving note on the card
  10. My card is ready. Pretty simple and east isn’t it. They are lovely I adore them.

How to make handmade greeting cards – Creative Ideas

Hello buddies 🙂

As I have already mentioned in my handmade greeting post I like to make a lot of greeting card for all the occasion for my friends and relatives. Recently I made a few festive greeting cards for my buddy and cousins . I Wanted to share them with you 🙂 Here are they. Check it out and tell me which one you like.

Cut and Paste Collage Greeting card : PONGAL

This one I made for Pongal festival to my buddy and my relatives. This was a simple and just in time greeting I made. But it was neat and pretty all of them liked it very much.Pongal greeting

I decided on what all components should be present on the card and cut out the shapes in different coloured cardstock and stuck them. Few things I used water colour painting.punch out

My card had a pot and fire for it then sun and two sugar canes. The pot and the fire components were cut out from cardstocks. I couldn’t cut out the Sugar canes so i painted them with water colour.For the pongal flowing out I used some cotton. Finally Stuck them all in place and wrote the wishes and signed it. Beads and Paper Miniature wreath card : CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR
