DIY Junk Mail craft

Hello Buddies 🙂

I made a couple of recycled junk mail crafts which are pretty and purposeful. I wanted to share them with you. I am sure all of us are getting unnecessary junk mails and we didn’t know what to do with them. Always the same snowflakes and Here is a fun way to re-purpose them.Junk Mail craft

Two things I made with them One is a BOX with a Lid and another a small BASKET. Actually I was inspired by this newspaper basket made by Jeffery and wanted to make it based on that I made this tiny Box with junk mail instead of newspapers because Junk mails are colourful as well .I also made a spiral Basket is the same way we make newspaper coasters Like I made the heart coasters. But this one needs more Patience Seriously ! I decided not to make one more of this. But I like them both mainly because they are recycled cute and purposeful !

Supplies You will need :

  • Junk Mails
  • Glue
  • Stapler
  • Patience (Really!)

How to make it :

  1. I folded the Junk mails into small strips. I actually used two colours of junk mails mainly Blue and whiteBox
  2. I used them alternatively. Prepare of lot of strips Before we actually make the craft
  3. To make the BOX weave the Blue and white strips alternatively for making the baseBox with lid
  4. Once the base is ready Fold the ends vertically and weave the strips on the vertical side to form the walls. Same way I made the Lid as well and small spiral and stuck on top of the lid for handlelid
  5. For complete tutorial check it out here
  6. To make the BASKET same way stick the small strips continuously in round shape.spiral
  7. Once you reach a desired size push in the middle of the spiral to form a basket shape.Basket
  8. Now apply a mixture of fevicol and water mixture in the ratio 1:2 part.
  9. This is for keeping the shape fixed and for little water proof.
  10. Thats it ! Pretty Basket and Box ready Use them to store your tiny treasures 🙂clip box
  11. I use them to keep my tiny clips and Pins.

DIY Christmas crib – Nativity scene

Hello buddies 🙂

Wish you all Merry christmas 🙂 🙂 This christmas season brings in so much of happiness and joy in our lives isn’t it. Its lot more crafty than any other festival season. Everyone tries to make something for christmas or make some christmas gifts. It might be a star or an ornament for the tree or  a simple decoration for christmas. So much creativity and different crafts everywhere. I am so excited to share mine as well. This is the first time I attempted to keep a christmas crib/ nativity scene at my house. I will show you how I made it.nativity scene

Supplies Required :

  • An old cardboard box
  • Dry hay
  • Oil paper
  • Glue scissors
  • Needle and thread
  • Set of dolls for the scene

My method :

  1. Main DIY part of my crib was the shed. I had one cardboard box which I cut and altered as a small hut. See the photo below for stepscrib
  2. Once the shape of the hut is ready cover it up with black oil paper. If you got brown paper well and good.
  3. No need to cover the roof top. We have got a plan for it 😉
  4. Once the outer walls and insides of the hut is completely covered we have to cover the roof. I used dry hay for the roof.
  5. Cut the hay into long pieces of almost equal length and stitch it on the roof. Apply glue before stitching so that it has extra holding.crib
  6. Now the shed is ready 🙂
  7. Place all the dolls inside. Cover the Baby Jesus with some cloth and place some hay below the baby as well.dolls
  8. I didn’t get the angel doll so I used up a angel tree ornament and stuck it on the back wall.
  9. And finally the golden star on the top 🙂 It is the favourite part of my crib. I will write a separate post on how I made this star 🙂 For now just the crib 🙂golden star
  10. All decorations done ! 🙂 Thats it my pretty nativity scene ready 🙂crib
  11. I even made a christmas star and Kept a christmas tree 🙂 check it out 🙂star
